Policy on Requesting Assistance from
SPRING Community Partners
Dobbs Ferry families who seek financial assistance for a child (or children) to participate in a specific activity or program are encouraged to contact SPRING Community Partners. SPRING is an opt-in organization, which means families must request support for each activity or program individually.
Families seeking assistance from SPRING are asked to apply for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) —a federally assisted program that provides free or reduced-price meals to eligible children. Once a family qualifies, the Free & Reduced-Price Meal letter serves as proof of eligibility for SPRING assistance and other benefits while the child is enrolled in school.
If a family does not qualify for the NSLP but is still facing financial hardship, they may appeal for an exception to the Free & Reduced-Price Meal eligibility policy. All requests for exceptions must be submitted in writing using the exemption request form.
Please note that only one NSLP application is required per household, and families will be notified within four to five business days of their eligibility. Applications are accepted throughout the school year.
