Clothing Support
SPRING partners with The Sharing Shelf to provide clothing for Dobbs Ferry children most in need.
Coat Drive
SPRING coordinates an annual drive to provide winter coats for local children and adults.
Crisis Intervention
SPRING responds to families experiencing exceptional hardship due to extended illness/hospitalization, sudden loss of employment and other family emergencies on a case by case basis. If a family experiences such a crisis, we recommend reaching out to the school social worker for additional support.
Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry
SPRING co-founded and currently helps with day-to-day operations of the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry. SPRING also provides school district and community information during pantry hours.
Early Literacy
SPRING founded and continues to support the early literacy program for at-risk children at Springhurst Elementary School.
Enrichment
SPRING works with local organizations including Broadway Training Center and Garage Pod to fund student participation in year-round enrichment programs, classes and activities. In summer 2020, SPRING ran its first in-person enrichment program hosted by The Children’s Village, and launched Project Explore and SPRING Summer Academy in 2021.
Family Bingo
SPRING hosts virtual family Bingo for Springhurst families and raises money and awareness at the same time!
Food Support
SPRING helps local families meet their food needs through our partnership with the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry and by working with Hastings-on-Hudson nonprofit Family-to-Family.
Help-a-Child 2.0
SPRING connects families most in need with community members who fulfill specific seasonal clothing and sports equipment requests. Volunteers also purchase supplies for the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry.
High School Support
SPRING ensures that all students have the resources for test prep classes, uniform costs for certain sports and a yearbook for senior year.
KidsCan!
SPRING facilitates several KidsCan! food drives throughout the year. Springhurst children collect food donations in their classrooms to stock the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry.
Musical Muses
SPRING encourages music participation in all three Dobbs Ferry district schools by covering the cost of instrument rentals. We also connect interested students with the RiverArts scholarship program.
Nursery School Scholarships
SPRING works with Dobbs Ferry nursery schools to provide discounted tuition for students who qualify.
Pool Passes
SPRING works with the Dobbs Ferry Recreation Department to provide discounted memberships to families.
Project Explore
SPRING partners with Erica Chapman, founder of the DKDK Project to offer middle school students a program emphasizing curiosity, independence and problem solving.
School Supplies
SPRING provides children with the required supplies for the start of the school year.
Senior Awards
SPRING offers three different awards to graduating seniors each year: the Jonathan Greengrass In Our Backyard Award to students with dedication to local community service; the SPRINGBoard Award to students with financial need and plans for further education; and the Sean Grogg Memorial Award for students with determination, resilience and kindness.
Sports
SPRING encourages participation by partnering with school and community sports programs by assisting families with registration and equipment costs. See CONTACT US for how to apply for assistance.
Spring Summer Academy
SPRING partners with the Dobbs Ferry School District to offer academic and social-emotional support for children in grades K-6.
Snack Fairies
SPRING volunteers provide daily healthy snacks for children who need them.
Summer Camp
SPRING works with the Dobbs Ferry Parks and Recreation Department to provide funding for children to attend day camp.
